Gator season opened this week in Mississippi with two record setting gators that were caught within hours of each other.
First, Beth Trammell and her team of five broke the previous record by catching a 723.5 pound mammoth alligator. Then, only two hours later, Dustin Bockman, another amateur gator hunter, wrangled a 723.5 pound giant.
Both alligators broke the previous state weight record of 697.5 pounds
